Title: Making Students Aware of Bias
Url: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1467-9639.1981.tb00405.x
Creator: Madsen, Richard W., 1941-
Publisher: University of Missouri--Columbia
Description: Created by Richard W. Madsen of the University of Missouri--Columbia, the following exercise can illustrate the problem of bias in estimators to students in statistics courses. In some advanced courses an alternative estimator may be presented and properties of this estimator may be investigated via Monte Carlo studies. The author uses both text and tables to help better illustrate this concept. He uses specific data sets to give a more hands on approach to learning these theories.
