Description: In the quantum world particles can be in two places at once, they disappear for no reason and reappear in unpredictable locations, they even act differently according to whether we were watching them. But why are features of quantum physics not seen in our experience of everyday reality? Can the classical and quantum worlds be reconciled, and why should reality make sense to us? This radio broadcast contains discussion with mathematicians and a theoretical physicist about where the dividing line between the quantum and classical levels may be; how the Schrodinger equation may need to be modified in order to take into account the measurement problem; the role of consciousness in measurement; and how an experiment is being attempted which may test the scale at which gravity affects the superposition of a particle. The broadcast is 42 minutes in length.
