Url: https://teachersinstitute.yale.edu/curriculum/guides/1988/6/88.06.07.x...
Creator: Smikle, Hermine E.
Publisher: Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute
Description: This unit from the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute is "an attempt to develop a unit in mathematics that will provide topics for students interested in the aviation trades." The unit can be used to cover all areas of mathematics from areas in geometry sectors to basic addition of fraction and decimal numbers. These general math concepts will be introduced using aerodynamics and aviation language and it is hoped that students will begin "to understand the applicability of some of the mathematics concepts they have learned." This curriculum unit also includes sample lesson plans and references.
