Description: This resource from the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center for Manufacturing (FLATE) will help educators bring music into their classrooms. Everyday items are used including rubber bands, tissue boxes and paperclips. The lesson plan is intended for middle school aged students; the students will gain an understanding of the science behind material selection and use in string design. It should take two 55 minute class sessions to complete. A teacher's lesson plan, student handout and lesson overview are available for download in Microsoft Word format.
