Description: This case study uses the example of a tropical tree which may be used in medical treatments. Students will read the case and then answer questions designed to explore the process of screening and testing the medicinal value of plants identified as having potential health benefits. The lesson could be used in high school or undergraduate coursework, and would be useful in introductory biology or botany coursework. The case study and teaching notes may be downloaded in PDF format. The site also includes a section for instructor feedback where general comments may be read and contributed.
