Creator: Nettleton, Dan
Publisher: American Statistical Association

Description: This article, created by Dan Nettleton of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, presents data from 1997 Big Ten Conference men's basketball games involving the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. These games are analyzed in a series of scatterplots which are accompanied by bivariate statistical inference. Additionally, the data can be used to represent inference techniques such as confidence regions, paired comparisons, and simultaneous confidence intervals. This is a great activity for a sports fan wanting to learn more about the statistics attached to his or her favorite sport.
